Oakley® today launches the brand's first optical solution, developed specifically for gaming: Prizm™ Gaming lens technology. The lenses are designed to improve visual contrast and provide sharp vision. They include a blue light filtering technology that does not compromise the aesthetics of the product.
To celebrate the launch of Prizm™ Gaming, Oakley has collaborated with EA SPORTS and Madden NFL 21 Championship Series on the broadcast of "Derwin James vs The World", a weekly tournament in which athletes, celebrities and musicians will challenge the star of los Angeles Chargers and prestigious Madden NFL player to take the final crown. The series will kick off with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby, who will face James on September 15.
With this collaboration, Oakley continues to support athletes both on and off the field, establishing a strong connection with the gaming community and offering optimized vision. "I rely on my Prizm football shield lenses to capture all the details of the field and practice plays that change the course of the game. It is great that the same technology is used in so many sports: golf, snowboarding... and now, in video games," says James. "With Prizm Gaming, I'm ready to eat the world. Who wants to play?".
Oakley's Prizm™ Gaming lenses are designed to improve visual contrast and provide sharp vision.
All Oakley Prizm™ Gaming lenses feature blue light filtering technology, which reduces blue light by 40% over a range of 380-500 nm and helps protect you from artificial light. Oakley has also designed the lens to reduce the yellow ink that often appears as a result of filtering blue light.
"We are a brand that has its roots in competition. That's why we're thrilled to expand into the video game industry," said Ben Goss, Global Marketing Director at Oakley. "This is a sector that is defined by the same passion for performance that has driven our brand for generations. The launch of Prizm™ Gaming is the result of applying that same passion for performance while continuing to bridge the gap between physical and digital sport. We're excited to provide gamers around the world with the equipment they need to take their game and style one step further."
Oakley's commitment to fit, shape and functionality comes to the gaming world with its line of headphone-compatible mounts, which feature thinner rods for optimal compatibility and are designed to be worn around the clock in maximum comfort. In the coming months, Oakley will also release a collection of glasses in collaboration with Turtle Beach, the leading accessories brand in the video game industry.
The launch of Prizm™ Gaming represents the latest pillar of the brand's investment in the video game sector, embodying Oakley's attitude both online and offline. To cement its commitment to gamers, Oakley has expanded its collaborations with MotoGP in the digital space, working with MotoGP E-Sports as an official partner.
