The Erika: Ray-Ban’s round one

Some shapes age badly and some do not age at all. The Erika (RB4171) is in the second group: a round front with a soft curve, corners barely marked and a bridge that rises slightly so the frame sits and does not slip. This one is in Dark Sand with Violet Gradient lenses. Reference RB4171 600068.

What you will like most

The shape. A round curve softens the features: it is one of the frames most people can wear without it looking too big. There are no edges to cut in.

The weight. The front is injected resin, so the frame rests without digging in and you can wear it for hours. And the finish is matte: it does not shout and does not show fingerprints.

The fit. The temples have a metal core, so they can be bent one by one and will not warp with use. This model is High Bridge Fit: if your glasses usually lack bridge and slide down your nose, this one rests where it should.

The Violet Gradient lenses

These are the factory lenses fitted to this model. They are gradient lenses: darker at the top where the sun hits, lighter at the bottom so you can check your phone without taking them off.

All original Ray-Ban lenses filter ultraviolet light and carry the laser-engraved logo in the corner; that is the quick way to tell an original lens from a copy. And cleaning takes a second: the cloth is in the box.

The size comes first

The Erika comes in a single size, 54 (M): 54 lens width, 18 bridge and 145 temple. The size is engraved inside the temple arm next to the reference RB4171 600068.

Being round with a high bridge, it works on both narrow and wide faces; the nose bridge is what decides. If in doubt, send us a front-on photo and we will tell you whether it is your shape.

Can I get it with prescription lenses? Yes — and it is our speciality

The Erika RB4171 is a prescription-ready frame: the factory ships it with demo lenses for exactly that reason. At Centro Óptico Alpedrete we have been glazing prescription lenses into sunglasses for over twenty years, and this frame takes it well: the front is rigid and the lens has plenty of room for your prescription.

What do you need? Just your prescription. With it we tell you whether we can fit your lenses straight away or whether it is better to order the frame without lenses and glaze it in our workshop. If your prescription is high, we will tell you clearly before you buy anything.

Lens types we fit: single vision, progressive and occupational, with anti-reflective, blue-light filter, and polarized or photochromic with your prescription.

And how much does it cost? It depends on your prescription and the treatment, not on the frame. We give you a fixed price before we start. And if you only came for the frame, we sell it without prescription too.

Timing. About 7 business days for the frame; glazing in the workshop usually adds 2 or 3 more.
