What you notice when you put it on

• Covers without weighing. The injected frame is light and the 125 mm nylon temple stays put behind your ear: no pushing it back every few steps.
• No light from above. That is what a well-made wrap gives you: the tall rim and closed temples cut the glare off the road and off snow.
• It stays on your nose. A 17 mm bridge with support pads: the frame does not slide when you sweat, which is the usual problem with big frames.
• Square, not round. The rectangular shape sharpens the face; on round or square faces it works better than a classic round frame.

Materials and workshop

The front is injected — the material real sunglasses are made of, not the acetate of display models: it takes dashboard heat without warping. The temple is nylon, with a curved tip so it does not pinch. The hinge is a three-piece screw hinge, so it can be tightened when it starts to wobble.

Everything that wears out can be replaced: lenses can be swapped for original Ray-Ban ones (prescription too) and temples are ordered separately. You do not throw the frame away because one lens got scratched.

Genuine, with warranty

Original Ray-Ban frame with its case, cloth and card. The official warranty is two years and covers manufacturing defects; everyday issues (a loose screw, pads, a bent temple) we sort out in the shop, which is what a local optician is for.

We are an official Ray-Ban dealer: the frame comes from the manufacturer, not from a middleman. That matters in two years when you need a replacement lens and want the same one it came with.

Questions we get at the counter

Can the Daddy-O take prescription lenses? Yes. It is a prescription-ready frame and that is what we do most with it: single vision or progressive with original Ray-Ban lenses. For strong prescriptions a high-index lens keeps it from getting thick; we tell you when we see the prescription.

G-15 or B-15? Both let through 15% of the light. G-15 is green and keeps colours true; B-15 is brown and boosts contrast, which shows up driving and in very bright light. Neither is polarised.

Can I have polarised lenses? This model leaves the factory with G-15 and B-15, not polarised. If you want polarised we fit a polarised prescription lens or look for the same model in a polarised colourway. Ask us and we tell you what is available that month.

How do I find my frame colour for spare parts? It is printed inside the left temple: 601/31 on the black one and W2578 on the rubber black. With that code we order the exact lens or temple.

Is this the same Daddy-O from the nineties? It is the same model evolved: same wrap shape and same 59 mm size, with today's injected material and lenses. Bring your old pair and we compare them at the counter.

Will size 59 be too big for me? It is a large size, meant for wider faces or for full coverage. If your face is narrow, look at the smaller size of the same model or a 55-56 mm frame: we measure it in the shop, no obligation.
