Product Details

Gunmetal is the colour of someone who does not want to be noticed and still shows good taste. The Bill Max in gunmetal with a dark grey lens is the soberest combination of the model: matte metal, double bridge and the big size that makes the face look smaller.

How it feels. The metal is light, so after two hours you forget you are wearing it; what you do notice is how people look at you. The double bridge leaves air above the nose and the clear nose pads sit without pinching. It is a frame that asks for a wide face — or simply for the will to wear it big. When it sits right, nothing else has that presence.

The lens: dark grey. Grey is the most neutral lens there is: it does not change any colour, it just tones it down. That is why people who spend hours behind the wheel or in front of a screen outdoors like it so much. A category 3 lens, it works from the city to the beach with strong, steady light. If you mostly drive, ask us about the polarised version: it removes the glare off the road and the bonnet.

There is a workshop behind the glasses. We have been fitting and adjusting glasses in Alpedrete for over twenty years, with registered optometrists and our own workshop. When you buy here, the frame leaves fitted to your face —temples, bridge, height— and with free check-ups whenever you need one. No online shop does that.

Factory original, with papers. We are authorised Ray-Ban retailers. The frame arrives with its case, its cloth and a 2-year European warranty. The code 004/B1 is engraved on the temple, the right lens carries the Ray-Ban logo and the left one the small RB print: the three signs of an original.

Can it be prescribed? Yes — and it is our specialty.

Almost all Ray-Ban sunglasses can be fitted with prescription lenses, and a full-rim metal frame like this one is among the easy ones. We fit original Ray-Ban lenses, the same the manufacturer uses, with the logo engraved on the right lens and the small RB print on the left. Short-sighted, astigmatic, reading addition: progressives too.

Frequently asked questions

Is it really that big?
Size 59 is genuinely XXL: it covers a lot of field of view and makes the face look smaller. Size 56 has the same design and suits most faces. If in doubt, send us a front-facing photo and we will tell you which.

What is the difference with the classic Bill?
The Bill is acetate, with a thicker rim and two sizes (56 and 60). The Bill Max is metal: lighter, with a double bridge and wider across the temples. Same aviator feel, different material and presence. If you prefer the acetate one, you will find it in our Ray-Ban Bill collection.

Does it come with case and cloth?
Yes, both original Ray-Ban, inside the box. If you want a hard case for your bag or the glovebox, tell us and we will show you the ones we keep in the shop.

Can I have other lenses fitted?
Yes. This frame takes original Ray-Ban lenses in their polarised, gradient and mirrored versions. We show you how each one looks before ordering.

Do you sell spare parts?
Yes: original Ray-Ban lenses and temples. On the Bill Max the temples are still in production; lenses we order from the factory in your colour and prescription. Write to us with the code engraved on the temple and we will confirm compatibility, price and lead time.

Shall we fit it on you in Alpedrete?

Come to the shop and we will adjust it in front of the mirror, with real light. And if you would rather sort it out by message, we are on the other side.
